Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you have had a good start to 2017. I wish you a happy and successful New Year with many new experiences and great moments, both privately and professionally.

Since 2007 I have held various positions on the ESGENA board. In October 2016 I became President of ESGENA. After 10 years on the board my term of office will finish in 2017. Although time is short, it is my hope that we can implement some new ESGENA projects during my term as President.

In this issue we will provide an introduction to all of the current ESGENA board members.

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 21st ESGENA Conference which will be held during the 25th United European Gastroenterology Week, October 28-30, 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. This is the third time that we will meet in Barcelona, sharing our experiences, knowledge and common areas of interest. The last years have shown that we can improve our daily practice and advance our profession in our home countries. At the ESGENA Conference we not only share our knowledge with colleagues from European countries, but also with colleagues from America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The three day ESGENA conference will include state-of-the-art lectures, free papers & posters, lunch sessions, and several workshops with hands-on training covering current topics in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

We would be honoured to receive your abstracts and we encourage you to use this opportunity to share your experience and knowledge. Please submit your abstracts for oral or poster presentation by May 31, 2017 Learn more »

I hope to welcome you in Barcelona in October 2017.

Jadranka Brljak
President ESGENA

Save your money - Cheap options to attend the Conference
Attending a conference can be very rewarding. Not only allows you to update your knowledge, but equally important is the opportunity to exchange ideas and clinical standards with colleagues from all over the world. As a bonus it takes you to beautiful and/or interesting cities all over Europe. However, as most nurses need to find the money themselves to attend the conferences, the cost can be out of the reach for many. So here are some suggestions how to make it more affordable. Learn more »
